- Week of 10.11.15 using maple
for anti- differentiation but guiding it with methods of
integration.
- Homework: Keep working on last
week's problems and in addition work on the following practice exam
from the web. There will be a HW quiz.
- Lesson 6--beginning of sequences and Riemann Sums
- this is a commented
maple file you can download--right click to download
- Homework due the week of November 2.
We will have a quiz on this at the end of the period during
this week.
- Lesson week November 10,12

QUESTIONS ABOUT SERIES
- Taylor Series
- Tuesday
Maple
- HW due December 1,3
- More Taylor Series
- Maple file for Tue class
- Note we had trouble using maple to figure out the Taylor
Series of exp(-1/x^2) about x=0. It cant handle it. To handle
it one must look at my Maple Derivation of
the Taylor Series that shows what the series is in terms of
derivatives at 0 and finds out that they are all 0.
Final Prep for last week in class final.
The test will be similar to the in class HW
quizzes but a combination of problems taken from the topics
below. They will not necessarily be taken directly from HW
problems. You will have to use Maple and explain what is going
on. Topics we have covered include:
- Integrate and Differentiate using Maple. Use of Digits.
Plotting in one dimension. See Homework
lesson 1.
- Use the Riemann Sum Tutor to find upper and lower
limits for the integral. Show how they approach definite
integral. See Homework
Lesson 3
- Be able to create sequences approaching values
monotonically and non monotonically. See Homework Lesson 4
- Several problems where you use the Maple calculus tutor
to find definite and indefinite integrals where you explain
Maples steps.
- See HW
10.4.
- Another
set of problems
- Limits
of sequences.
- Partial Sums
- Taylor
Series
