What is the purpose of the MARKER field in the BGP header? Why is it needed?
Can you imagine a situation in which an autonomous system chooses not to advertise all of its
networks? Explain.
Explain how Split Horizon is used by the RIP protocol to avoid erroneous updates to routing tables.
Each router in the autonomous system shown below starts with a routing table showing the networks
they are directly connected to. The routers exchange routing information using a distance vector
protocol. Show the messages that are exchanged and the state of the routing tables after each message.
Use the Routing Tables sheet PDF file or
Word file.
