Routers are connected to multiple networks. Usually, routers receive traffic from one adapter and
forward it through one of the other adapters it has. Suppose a router discovers it is about to
forward an IP datagram back over the same network interface on which the datagram arrived. Can
you think of a scenario where this would happen? Explain.
How can routers in a core system use default routes to send all illegal datagrams to a specific
machine?
Each router in the autonomous system shown below starts with a routing table showing the networks
they are directly connected to. The routers exchange routing information using a distance vector
protocol. Show the messages that are exchanged and the state of the routing tables after each message.
Use the Routing Tables sheet.
