This page is part of an on-going project collecting information about those computer scientists who helped define computer science.
The only requirement is that the computer scientist shall have already died.

The first ten computer scientists who will be outlined are:
Alan Mathison Turing
Alan J. Perlis
Grace Hopper
John Lions
Richard Wesley Hamming
James Hardy Wilkinson
John Vincent Atanasoff
Edsger Dijkstra, died August 6, 2002, winner of 1972 Turing Award
Kristen Nygaard, died August 10, 2002, co-winner of 2001 Turing Award
Ole-Johan Dahl, died June 29, 2002, co-winner of 2001 Turing Award
