Required Activities

Advising Students must meet with a mentor for an advising session once during the first three weeks of the semester and once during the last three weeks of the semester. A schedule of office hours for advisors is available from the main menu.

Workshops Students are expected to attend 5 workshops each semester. Those that are organized by the scholarship program take place in Gillet Hall. To receive credit for attending these workshops please sign your name on the attendance list. The speakers are doing us a favor by coming to Lehman and addressing us. We can show our appreciation by being on time to the workshops. The sign up list will be removed five or ten minutes after the lecture has begun. Students can also get credit for attending certain workshops organized by other groups. To receive credit for such workshops you must fill out and submit this attendance form .

Getting the Stipend

After you have attended your first workshop, had your first advising session with a mentor and signed the RF certification letter (available in the program office) you will recieve $250 . Checks can be picked up in the program office but be patient. It takes about three weeks for the checks to become available.

After you have attended three workshops another check for $250 will be issued. And after you have attended five workshops and your second advising session with a mentor, the final check will be issued.

We do check attendance at workshops. So, remember to sign in to those offered by the program, and to attach documentation for outside workshops you attend.
