Lattice envelopes

Given a countable group we are interested in the structure of all its lattice embeddings into locally compact groups up to commensurability. Based on methods from rigidity theory and geometric group theory we obtain a result about the structure of possible lattice embeddings for a large class of groups, including acylindrically hyperbolic and linear groups. This is joint work with Uri Bader and Alex Furman.
