A faithful linear-categorical action of the mapping class group

Abstract: We will discuss a faithful action of the mapping class group on a category of modules. While the action comes from bordered Floer homology, it can (and will) be described entirely combinatorially. This is joint work with Peter Ozsvath and Dylan Thurston.
