Boundaries of relatively hyperbolic groups
Alessandro Sisto (ETH)
Abstract:
Examples of relatively hyperbolic groups include fundamental groups of
finite volume hyperbolic manifolds, many fundamental groups of
3-manifolds, limit groups and many others.
One can associate to a relatively hyperbolic group a certain compact
metric space, the boundary, that is often useful to show results about
the geometry of the group.
In particular, I will discuss results about quasi-isometric embeddings
of the hyperbolic plane in relatively hyperbolic groups and metric
embeddings of relatively hyperbolic groups into "universal" target spaces.
